Hi there, thanks for stopping by.
My name is Cameron Murray, and I’m an Educational Designer – or in another part of the world, an Instructional Designer, or maybe an Educational Technologist. I currently work for a large and leading university in Australia. My job is to work with staff to produce world-class education using the tools of the trade. Those tools today are increasingly looking like computers, anything mobile with a chip in it (phones, tablets, wearable technology), fancy peripherals (mice, keyboards, stylus pens) and software.

As a young person, I was fascinated with technology. I remember vividly a friend of mine (his father actually) owning an Amiga that had colour graphics, amazing sounds and a joystick. This was the late 80s and this was mind blowing. Over the next 25 years, I’ve been an early adopter for a range of technology, and witnessed the spread of the internet and been a part of the provision of education as technology has made its mark on everything that the education sector does. It has been quite a ride.
When I completed high-school, I studied Business and Information Technology in University, then a postgraduate Business degree,a Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) graduate diploma, then a masters degree in Education with a focus on eLearning excellence. I’ve never been able to get enough of learning and education – it’s in my blood. I’ve worked in the Education sector for over 15 years both as a lecturer and in a number of other roles, and have been fortunate enough to carry my work to Asia, North America and in Australia.
My work marries my passions – technology and education – and I enjoy and relish being able to share my knowledge and experiences with others.
